On August 13, 2004,
we got hit by Hurricane Charley, this pic was snapped on the way out of
the shop a few hours before it hit, luckily we all made it through without
much damage.
Back to work after
Hurricane Charley, even though we were without power for a week, we made
things happen.
Your probably shaking
your head about this photo.
Yes, there is a point
to all of this work!
We can't give away
all the secrets, so lets just say all the work was so we could make a
mold of the roof. What its for? - well your just gonna have to wait and
see.

September 3, 2004

You know, living in Florida has its perks, but these hurricanes are putting
a SERIOUS slow-down on our project. Shortly after this photo it was time
to pack it in and go home to ride out the storm.

With 2 hurricanes now behind us, it has set us back at least 12-14 days.
This really has been frustrating and we've lost valuable build-up time.
So we decided to vent a bit of our frustrations, this truck has some serious
power!!!!!!

It was time to cut the roof to the opening needed.

Test part made and trimmed to opening.

The mold was marked, cut, crated and delivered, now we wait........

Meanwhile, things are getting ready for paint, suicide latch primed, ready
for more blocking.

The strikers for the doors are both on the center pillar now and it
has been reshaped, primed, and ready for final blocking prior to paint.

Hmmm

Quite a few parts removed, some will go back on, some are now scrap.

Mach-up wheels with the
proper spacing - right on target.

Bed floor cut out.

Trial fit of the bed & wheels.

Tailights, gas door and custom rollpan coming together.

Endcaps are made for the rollpan - with the body line intact.

The unique tailgate is taking shape!

Front fenderwells removed.

The complete dash, A/C, fuse boxes, etc are now all removed.

The days get longer, but progress is moving along and the SEMA show will
be here soon. Time to get back to work!

Time for a new custom frame.

Firewall cut out for motor clearance (due to lowering the body).

The cab is slid back for better access to the front frame section.

Rear section of the custom frame.

New rear frame section installed. Suspension arms are fabricated (not
shown in photo).

The first look at it off the stands.
Just had to do it.

Custom upper A-arm with DJM dropped lower control arm in place.
Thanks to King Jabo & Mexiguyver!

Once everything is adjusted, the firewall is reinstalled with a few changes.

The hand fabricated rollpan is welded on and shaped a bit more.

The Phipps custom bucket seats are right at home in the Supercrew.

September 26th - once again, another Hurricane!! Jeanne moved in on us
and kept us from moving forward for another 2 days. We're now up to a
total of 14-16 days of down time due to Hurricanes.
As long as their are no more Hurricane's, things shouldn't be too bad!

HydraTech's brake booster installed.

Saves space and provides more braking power!

Well,
Project Insomnia left for Las Vegas at 2:00 A.M. this morning (10/27/04).
Exotic Car Transport picked it up from R.A.W. a day early, so we have
a few things left to wrap up prior to the show.
For everyone that will see it at SEMA, it still won't be completely
finished, we just ran out of time, we lost 15 days due to no power with
the hurricane's, we did the best with the time we had.
THANK
YOU TO EVERYONE that came from out of town, orlando guys, Acro guys, we
couldn't have done it without you!
Special thanks to everyone at R.A.W. for all the long hours and dedication
to this project - Anthony Rhodes, Chris (Mexiguyver) Estrada, King Jabo,
and Amit Patel.
Thanks to the crew at Musso
Motorsports in Las Vegas, NV for allowing us to have full use of there
excellent shop to make all of our final adjustments prior to the SEMA
show.

Here are some shots of Insomnia on display at the '04 SEMA show in Las
